I am Chiara, born on Sami people national day in 1998, in a North Italian town. I am currently living and working in the Netherlands.

I am a polyglot who has studied and studies nearly all main Nordic languages among others, and this blog’s goal is to illustrate Scandinavia and Nordic countries in the sense of explaining it, often with my own illustrations

I opened this blog as a project for one of my college classes. Drawing and languages are my biggest hobbies, and ever since i was a child i have always had a fascination for North Europe, from Pippi Longstocking to Danish Butter cookies; so I chose Nordic cultures as topic, using my art to make it more fun. I found out I actually enjoyed doing this and started writing about languages as well, expanding the content of my Instagram posts.

On this blog you will read about Nordic cultures, my own travels in Scandinavia and visits to Nordic inspired shops elsewhere, language facts and tips to learn them. Find me on tiktok, X, tumblr etc.

What languages Do I speak and how i did I learn them? During my last year of high school I started to self study Swedish and Dutch on duolingo, after having studied other 3 foreign languages for 5 years (English, French, German). I started to actively speak Danish and Norwegian more recently and began studying Icelandic and Finnish during the 2020 lockdown. Other than these languages I have always adored Japan and I am slowly studying Japanese as well.
