(free) Language Resources

During the march 2020 lockdown I collected resources I could find on tumblr and listed them on my langblr chiara-klara-claire (language blog). I am sharing resources for Nordic languages here! I will be updating this from time to time, so save this page in your fav’s!

Read my (language-related) articles: tell apart Nordic Languages, Finnish / Icelandic, Dutch / Swedish comparison, Sámi languages &cultures.. 🇮🇸🇸🇪🇳🇴🇫🇮🇩🇰🇦🇽

I want to study language X, how do I start?

First of all you can get basic info about a given language on omniglot, ielanguages.com and wikipedia, then look up some videos and music to know what it sounds like. At this point you can start using apps as duolingo, memrise, online lessons and if you like the language enough buy a textbook. If you are in Facebook you can find groups for language learning and help there

To find music in a given language, search “[language] songs/ top 100” on spotify your youtube or listen to a radio anywhere in the world, to find online newspapers, broadcast, films, novels etc do the same on google. You might not like the first results but algorythms should help you find more content with time 🙂
